Last portion of the BCBS project was an executive suit. We worked with same theme - Kansas City Blue but this time with different type of glass graphic process and different approach in imagery. The imagery is superimposed over each other in separate layers of different colors therefore creating an ever changing experience while walking by.
Frames have arrived for APoDOMUS Cards!
Long time pampered idea finally came to life...
All cards in my Etsy shop APoDOMUS can now be framed and become Framed Piece of Art From the Heart.
You can pick and choose any frame(s) with any card(s)!
I have been searching for a long time to find just the right frames - frames that would curate and feature the cards in a proper and unique way . And I found them! My favorite ones are the Element Frames that can showcase the cards (with a double-sided feature) as like effortlessly floating in space. They come in white oak and black wooden finish. Love them!
The other great frame is this shadow box Chroma frame (above) for any of the cards that are 3-dimmensional. It comes in black and charcoal wood finish.
And last but not least is the Stratton Frame that features a beautiful slim profile. Comes in white oak and black wood finish.
Very happy about this frame collection. Hope you enjoy as well!

Yes, if I was a curator and/or a gallery boutique owner...I would showcase these
playful | poetic | beautiful collections of items.
This idea came from late passion for Etsy. Not only because I became a member but because it gives you a chance to create these so called "treasury lists" which are a form of member promotion and promotion in general. You can simply browse all Etsy products and make your own lists of your favorite items (kind of Etsy's own Pinterest if you will...) and create curated mini galleries of other people's work. (you are not supposed to promote your own work but others...) Most of them in my mind are not my "cup of tea" but I really enjoy making mine. Here are few to start with.
Take a look at some of the actual treasury lists curated by me (APoDOMUS) and explore on your own and see other people's amazing work.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

MADA - Mid America Design Awards 2015
Happy happy happy to share good news about BCBS Live Blue retail space in Prairie Village. Last week team of helix with me included as a contract designer was recognized and won best in Retail category. Journey from renderings...to reality...
BCBS Kansas City - wayfinding
Another part of the BCBS project was a wayfinding graphic for each floor. The overall theme was based on Kansas City landmarks.
Rolling again...
Getting in to the rolling mode again.
I decided that it has been way too long since I have created any new artwork. The warm up is through a testing process for a company that makes permanent and archival inks - new ones for me! I am developing a comprehensive and visual reference library for all of their inks. It will be lots of rolling (over 100 colors!!!) and lots of happy accidents I believe! And then - time for NEW ART! Stay tuned...
getting the roller ready...
and first traces rolled out...
Sampling of colors provided so far...
...and possible layout for their website illustrating the shades and tones of each ink accompanied with a small "artwork" to convey best the color range of each ink. Funny - how Chocolate brown is not brown at all - but pretty much like deep dried plum color...Getting very excited!!!
BCBS Kansas City - HQ lobby
Large scale and long term project that kept us busy together with Mike for about a year. 11ft by 60ft of printed back lit glass panels in the lobby of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Headquarters in downtown Kansas City. We collaborated on the graphic itself in many many rounds. I had a pretty strong and clear vision since I was part of the project design team as well and therefore our efforts had many "shades and hues". Lot of times it felt like one step forward, two steps back but at the end we were very pleased with the outcome. And the best part of it - we are still married!
